Tea on the Tops

Curbar Gap - Thursday Tea Time

I picked up the small people from after school club, grabbed the picnic blanket, trainers, sausage rolls & flapjack. 15 minutes later we were having  tea on top of the world.

I think these were the finest cherries ever eaten, sat munching and looking at the stunning views.

Small people clambered & explored.

Checked out some ye olde worlde graffitti

& chatted to G - In Holland
"Dad guess where we are?"

We waved at Grandma & Grandpa - who didn't wave back...
(G&G's house is bang in the middle of the picture)

It was good - to be spontaneous, to enjoy what is on our doorstep. To sit back & watch them being children, to share in their delight.

I went home with two tired, but very happy smalls, excited by their adventure. Helped along by popping into G&G house on the way home, & my mum bathing them, ready for bed.

I've not blogged for a while, for personal reasons - So thankyou for standing by me & to those who checked up on me, hugs. Also "Hello & Welcome!" to those of you who have so kindly joined me in the past few weeks. I will get round to catching up with people as soon as I can.

I'll be back soon. I need to boast about winning a giveaway (yes! me! - soo never usually happens), & Taz has chucked me a challange (pants! - will have to use some brain power)

I also have a project that we have started over here, both myself and the smallest one are beside ourselves with excitment. Poor G is nearly a broken man....

Love Lydia xx

was a one off I think, think all the bracelts are, but she does have similar ones and I would imagine you could ask her to make one like the one she sold to me, is very yummy and as soon as I saw it I had to buy. Was £7.00.

    Hugs and love as always

  14. Try and make sure G isn't on the ladder when you whisk it away for prettifying in the garden!
Tea and toast disappeared almost as soon as it arrived! T was most put out by my name change and although I don't do everything my children ask me he was really quite insistent that I revert back to J and J!
    Here's to more summer spontaneity.

  19. Hi Lydia sorry i have not been in touch but it is hard knowing what to say and what questions to ask and i know you have had your own sadness this year and with what you do as your job i did not want to put more pressure on you the same as i said to my DIL who is a nurse we just need her to be our DIL and not feel she has to know all the answers .The speech therapist has answered a lot of our worries and tried to put Daves mind at ease by saying it is treatable and curable and that sort of helped,it is nice to know the treatment suite is nice thats another worry knowing he will be in for five days at a time Dave is never ill and hospitals are a scary place for him.Well i think i have waffled on long enough now sorry and i do not really know what more to say except thank you for being there have a great weekend with your family my eldest daughter and her family are coming up to to spend some time with us.

  23. Hi lydia thank you for your kind comment it means a lot to me,yes Dave is doing well much better than we thought, its the unknown that we were scared of and Dave has done remarkably well with hardly any side affects. We shaved his hair off last week as it was coming out in handfulls, he now thinks he is Bruce Willis.I will keep up a report on my blog as to how he is doing. I hope you and your family are well and that you get to take it easy some of the time sending you a hug too.

  25. Just found your blog and was so delighted with the pictures. I fear that I live in a rather flat part of the States where such scenery doesn't really exist. We are, though, blessed with abundant water, so I supposed that will have to do!

Looking forward to reading more....do feel free to pop by my blog if you have a moment, would love a visit!

    I hope you are ok..
Just to let you know, I am the grandmother to Lirys..now 6 weeks old!! How time flies..
She is the most beautiful little thing (scan was wrong!) I see her most days on Skype. I'm back in Crete now, working nights which make me crabby.. husband is working hard, as usual in the summer.
I do hope you're ok and hope to see you back blogging.
    Take care
