Footloose & Chilli Cheese Hearts

You know that the day should be a good one when you get to dance round your bedroom to Kenny Loggins 'Footloose' at 8.10am - No more snow, means no more local radio -yep Terry is back on my radar (well Johnny Walker this week, as Terry is on yet another holiday...)

I like Wednesdays, because I get to take the little people to school & pick up - (ok, more like a mad dash & drop in the morning), but in the afternoon I get the chance to natter to the other mums.

Enough Chatter Lydia! & down to baking.

To try & be a good wifey, I have decided to make G's Valentine pressie myself (& I get to use my new toy in the process....)

Its a twist on Nigella's Cheesy Feet recipe.

Chuck 50g Plain flour, 25g Soft Butter, 100g grated cheddar (I use extra strong..) & 1/4 tsp of baking powder into a mixer....

Add the special Valentine ingredient - 1 tbsp of dried chilli flakes....

And whizzle together, until the mixture binds....

(This piccy is just an excuse to flaunt my mixer with her latest accessory....)
Wrap & rest in fridge for 15 minutes....

Then take out, roll to about 3mm thick & cut....

Bake at 200 (lower for a fan, I do mine at 170) for about 10mins, or until a pale golden brown.

Giving me time to revamp a coffee jar....
& eat these.... well creativity needs feeding doesn't it??

Remove & put on baking tray to cool....

Then pop in nicely trimmed coffee jar....& Ta-Da!!

Happy Valentines G - something red hot to knock your socks off!

Love from Lydia xx
