I hope it dosn't look like a glitter ball....

I am grumpy tonight, courtesy of an 11 hour shift. This was due to the very late delivery of furniture for our new waiting room & yet more snow - humph!!

So my eldest's bed time natter consisted of mildly exaggerated descriptions of the lorry & rather large man who drove it.... The no TV ban is now making mummy's tall stories appear amusing at least....

I was very pleased on my return home from saving lives (another tall story) & furniture arranging, to find that G had kindly removed this....

And put up this....

I hope it doesn't look like a Disco Ball!

It was my Laura Ashley buy from their web sale a couple of weeks ago, £70 (I wouldn't have paid that) down to £27 (Bargain). It throws of lovely flowers round the ceiling & walls when lit up... & hopefully adds a bit of sparkle to the hall

Not that the hall is an overly boring place anyway - there is the huge wooden clock G bought as a house warming pressie from a gallery just outside of Bakewell. It is edged with the colours of the rainbow, blending into each other as they go round....

And also in the hall, in the same colour way, is a print we brought back from our honeymoon, of St Barts (although we went to St Kitts) - I love the blues & greens on the edges, and the simple detail & balance of the picture....

It brings back warm memories, yet I have no desperate urge to go back - give me this country any day.... I prefer wellies, cream teas, rock pooling and 'lovely things' shops....

This prompts the thought that its not long till our Easter break in Cornwall - now there's a thing to banish the grumps....

Love from Lydia xx

  4. Love the lightshade. In my old house I had a bead and wire concoction in my dining room. I loved it but Mr Earplugs (who was boyfriend rather than hubby back then) asked me why I had a colander as a lightshade - men!
